HWNZ (CTA) Hauora Mãori Funding

We are pleased to invite Māori health workers to apply for scholarship support funding to undertake training. This funding support is from Health Workforce NZ (HWNZ—formerly CTA) and can be used by Māori health workers to enrol on an accredited course, covering tuition costs, some relief staff hours, cultural support, mentoring, travel and accommodation, where applicable.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR THE 2016/2017 STUDY

Eligible Staff

You may be eligible if:

  1. You are of Māori descent, or, you are non-Māori but would study a qualification that is “Māori specific” and have a letter of support from the local Māori community (i.e. a 2 year Certificate in Health Science – Māori Health or a Certificate in Hauora Māori)
  2. You are working for an employer that provides health services within the Waitemata DHB area, for a minimum of 16 hours per week
  3. Your employer provides some kind of health service (i.e Disability, Older Adults, Primary, Counselling, Hospital, Community etc)
 

Eligible Courses:

Eligible courses are a Certificate or Diploma at Level 3 to Level 7 on the NZQA framework in a health or health management related area of study.
